The work of the American photographer Leigh Ledare is located on the border of the permissible, and according to many, just over it. Your mother is clearly present in your work, but your father seems hardly play a role. What struck me was a quote, or a job at Something Might Have Been Better Than Nothing [exhibition Per Billgren, Berlin, 2011 - ed] says: "For our fathers, gentle men." Can you say something about that?
"A lot of my work will charge through absence, so in a sense that there was referring to. I call my father maybe twice in the book Pretend You're Actually Alive. This book is only ostensibly a portrait of my mother, but is in fact all about social dynamics and relationships between the different partners and different triangles within relationships.
